STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE

I would like to share with you a brief look at what stewardship at Christ Congregational Church, UCC is all about.  It can be summed up in three lines:

We are all Stewards of God's creation. As Christians, we are all Disciples of Jesus Christ.  We have chosen to be members of the Christ Church family.

As "Stewards of God's Creation" we are responsible for caring for all of God's creation; the earth, the atmosphere, ourselves and each other.  We do this as individuals, together as a church family, with other churches within the Pilgrim Association, across the state through the Massachusetts Conference, across the nation with the United Church of Christ denomination, and around the world in partnership with other denominations.

As "Disciples of Jesus Christ" we are called to follow the "Greatest Commandments":

"'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
this is the greatest and first commandment.
And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"

And the "Great Commission":

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father
and the Son and the Holy Spirit"

When we chose to become "Members of the Christ Church Family" it is up to us to take responsibility for our church through our Presence, Participation, and Pledges.  With so much going on at Christ Church, I'm sure you can find something which you could lend your talents to.

As most of us do, Christ Church has bills to pay: salaries, utilities, building maintenance, etc.  It is through the pledges, tithes and offerings received that these expenses are met.
