Our Staff

Rev. Patricia Hayes, Senior Pastor, is a graduate of Andover Newton Theological School and has served at Christ Church since December, 2005. Prior to coming to Brockton, Rev. Patricia served as a full-time church consultant with The Alban Institute, as a regional minister, and as a pastor in Bangor, Maine. Rev. Patricia celebrated 20 years of ordination in 2006, and is delighted to be have been granted standing with the United Church of Christ and to be back in parish work. She lives at the parsonage with her husband, Fred and Cairn Terrier dog, Harry. Her children, Liza and Will, are grown and live in Maine and Delaware respectively. [top]

Philip Jones serves as our full-time Director of Music and Organist. British born and educated, Philip is a teacher, organist, conductor and composer. He has lived and worked in Texas but is now settled in New England. Philip is completing 10 years at Christ Church in March, 2008. In addition to directing the choirs and Morning Chimes handbell group and overseeing the youth music program, Philip encourages church instrumentalists to play during services as a wind band and as solo performers. Philip also oversees the monthly ARTS at Christ Church program The ARTS program showcases our own musicians and also brings local musicians, drama and novelty events to the church. Philip is very active in the American Guild of Organists and lives in Brockton with his wife Jill and five cats. [top]

Rev. Rollin Johnson serves as our Minister of Visitation on a part-time basis. Having served for 46 years in many churches, Rev. Johnson brings enormous experience to the pastoral call. He lives with his wife, Carol, in Plymouth, and generally comes to Brockton on Tuesdays and Thursday and alternate Sundays. Rev. Johnson has been with us since April, 2006. [top]

Cheryl Rieder serves as our Director of Christian Education. She is with us 25 hours a week during the school year. Cheryl is a graduate of Andover Newton Theological School, and is "in care" with the Pilgrim Association as she continues to prepare for ordination. Cheryl lives in Plymouth with her husband Mark and their three teenagers (or near teenagers) and an assortment of pets. Cheryl worked with us over the summer of 2006 and began with her full schedule in September, 2006. [top]

Cindy Myers serves as our Publications Secretary, and works at the church Tuesdays through Fridays, 16 hours per week. Cindy is a church member and brings considerable professional experience in the area of publications. She lives in Brockton with her husband Don and daughter (who is off at college) Joanna. Cindy began work at Christ Church in September, 2006. [top]

Lisa Kenney serves as our Church Administrator, and works at the church Mondays through Thursdays, 16 hours per week. Lisa is the mother of five school age children, and is excellent at multi-tasking. She lives in Bridgewater with her husband, Tom, and the aforementioned five children. At Christ Church, she tracks down repairs, supplies, helps coordinate with building users and does many other odd assignments. Lisa began in August, 2006. [top]

Phil Paul serves as our lawn and maintenance person, and works 15 hours a week, usually on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Phil is a retired police officer and seems to be able to repair just about anything! [top]

Thomas Fisher serves as our security person and is here whenever committees or other evening functions are going on. He is the "go to" person if there is a problem with the building, helps committees get set up, and locks up at the end of the night. Thomas is a long-time church member and teaches math at Brockton High School by day. He is married to Sheppo, and has two children, Tamara and Sam. [top]
