Highlights at Christ Congregational Church

September: Registration and Rally Day - usually the first Sunday after Labor Day, marks the beginning of Church School and a "Rally" back to church.  We return upstairs to the sanctuary for worship, have communion, and end the day with a cookout and party.

Many activities and ministries resume: choirs, handbells, Bible studies, women's fellowship, men's group, reading group, quilting group, Young at Heart seniors group, women's spirituality groups and committees.

The Fall Stewardship Pledge Drive offers members and friends a chance to make their annual financial pledge to the church so that committees and Church Council may play the budget for the coming year (September or October)

October:  An annual Spooktacular Halloween Party is always a hit with the children.

New member classes (four sessions) begin.  New member classes are offered several times a year, involving a chance to discuss faith journey issues and life at Christ Church.

November: First Saturday is Harvest Fair - an all church amazing event.  Don't miss it!

The All Church-Family Thanksgiving Dinner follows worship on the Sunday before Thanksgiving - we fill the fellowship hall with wonderful smells and fine fellowship.

December:  Advent (the four Sundays before Christmas) is filled with special worship services, including a Lessons and Carols Sunday and a Christmas Pageant.  The season begins with a crafts workshop and light supper.

Christmas Eve services are held at 7:00 and 11:00.  Both services are candlelight services; the senior choir sings at the late service.

The Night Before New Year's Eve' intergenerational party is held on December 30.

Lent: Christ Church celebrates Fat Tuesday on Ash Wednesday with an early Pancake Supper, then we head upstairs for Ash Wednesday service.  Lent has special studies and gatherings, and ends in Holy Week with special services on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.  We have an annual Easter Egg Hunt for the children on Holy Saturday, and sunrise service, breakfast and Easter Celebration on Easter morning.

First Communion: for our kindergarten children is on Palm Sunday (the Sunday before Easter).

Confirmation: for our high school students who complete their two year program is on Pentecost (7 weeks after Easter).

Summer: holds various fellowship activities and worship downstairs in our cooler lower level.
