WELCOME!

The Board of Christian Education welcomes you and your child(ren) to Christ Congregational Church, UCC.  As a congregation, we are deeply committed to the faith formation of all our members.  We especially appreciate the gift God has bestowed upon us in the form of our children, and we seek to honor the vows made during the sacrament of baptism as well as Christ's mandate to "make disciples of all nations."

Sunday morning worship is held at 9:55 a.m.  Childcare is available during worship in the lower level of the Education Wing

SACRAMENTS

A member of the United Church of Christ, Christ Congregational Church, UCC observes two sacraments.  Holy Communion is observed on the first Sunday of the month.  All who seek God's presence in their lives are invited to share in our Lord's meal.  For Initiation into the Christian faith through the sacrament of Baptism, please contact Reverend Patricia Hayes.

First Communion

In the United Church of Christ we believe in an "open" communion table, and at Christ Congregational Church we feel that our children should be included at an early age in this important sacrament.  We offer classes of  communion preparation to first grade students. The children learn about the Sacrament and bake bread for their own First Communion.  For more information please contact Cheryl Rieder, Director of Christian Education at (508)586-3022 or

Teens who are in high school are encouraged to participate in a two-year program that is designed to "confirm" their faith.  Usually 9th and 10th graders participate, although older teens are welcome.  The confirmands attend church every week, then gather for lunch and classes after church (11:45-1:15).  Additionally, they go on spiritual retreats, have fellowship events, meet with the Deacons, work at projects around the church and community, and participate in worship services.  The curriculum for confirmation is Faith Inkubators and may be previewed at their website www.faithink.com.  Second year students are confirmed and join the church on Pentecost, the fiftieth day after Easter Sunday.  For more information, please talk to the confirmation leaders: Rev. Patricia Hayes and Wayne Hulbert.  (For additional information please visit our Senior High Youth Group and Deacon's pages)
